A liberal media bias? Say it ain’t so!

The Daily Caller has uncovered documents that show members of the mainstream media conspiring to kill stories about President Obama’s former pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

It was the moment of greatest peril for then-Sen. Barack Obama’s political career. In the heat of the presidential campaign, videos surfaced of Obama’s pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, angrily denouncing whites, the U.S. government and America itself. Obama had once bragged of his closeness to Wright. Now the black nationalist preacher’s rhetoric was threatening to torpedo Obama’s campaign.

The crisis reached a howling pitch in mid-April, 2008, at an ABC News debate moderated by Charlie Gibson and George Stephanopoulos. Gibson asked Obama why it had taken him so long – nearly a year since Wright’s remarks became public – to dissociate himself from them. Stephanopoulos asked, “Do you think Reverend Wright loves America as much as you do?”

Watching this all at home were members of Journolist, a listserv comprised of several hundred liberal journalists, as well as like-minded professors and activists. The tough questioning from the ABC anchors left many of them outraged. “George [Stephanopoulos],” fumed Richard Kim of the Nation, is “being a disgusting little rat snake.” Read the rest after the jump.

Obama the Socialist Fascist Communist

by Scott Lazarowitz

A recent poll showed that 55% of Americans believe that Barack Obama is a “socialist,” and many Americans believe that the nation is on the “road to socialism.”

The road to socialism? Where have these people been for the last 75 years? America has been a socialist – as well as fascist – nation for many decades, especially since FDR’s New Deal. Socialism primarily is public ownership of wealth, property and the means of production. So, of course Obama is a socialist. He has expressed that.

For some reason, many people mistakenly believe that Social Security, an important outcome of the New Deal, is a program in which some of Americans’ earnings are taken and put into some kind of “savings account,” to be available to them when they retire. In actuality, Social Security is a real-time redistribution of wealth scheme administered by the State, in which income is taken from producers and redistributed to non-producers, mainly retired persons and the elderly. LBJ’s Medicare program is an extension of this.

Further examples to show that Obama is a socialist include his vote as a U.S. Senator in favor of the Wall Street Bailout, often mistakenly seen as an example of “capitalism,” but which was actually an example of socialism: redistribution of wealth from the middle-class workers and producers to the already rich Wall Street bankers and financial executives.

Obama also clearly supports the ongoing military socialism through the wars he has been continuing and strengthening abroad: redistribution of wealth from American workers and producers to defense contractors, consultants and lobbyists, oil executives and Wall Street bankers, which really has been a main objective for American wars throughout the last century. As the late USMC Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler would say, “War is a Racket.”

And as the late economist Murray Rothbard put it, regarding World War I:

Woodrow Wilson’s decision to enter the war may have been the single most fateful action of the 20th century, causing untold and unending misery and destruction. But Morgan profits were expanded and assured.

Things have not changed in 100 years.

Obama’s stated intention has been for redistribution of wealth as a means to help the poor, the underprivileged and so on. But his unstated intention is the same as all politicians of his ilk: to reach into as much private wealth as possible as a means towards expanding State power and control.

Many people also mistakenly believe that Obama’s medical takeover is “socialized medicine,” but we already have socialized medicine in Medicare as mentioned, and other similar programs. ObamaCare is actually a fascist program.

Fascism is another major aspect of FDR’s New Deal, which gave us an untold number of regulations, mandates and enmeshments between business and government. Fascism primarily is State control over privately owned property, wealth and industry. All government mandates and regulation of private economies are examples of fascism. ObamaCare consists of one mandate and regulation after another of private doctor-patient relationships, patient/doctor-insurance company relationships, and a laundry list of medical related industries.

In addition to ObamaCare fascism and Obama’s strengthening of his own executive dictatorial powers as president, some other examples of Obama’s fascism include his new financial regulations, and the environmental regulations that he used as a means of interfering with Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal’s duty to protect the people of Louisiana from the oil spill that threatens their livelihoods.

While allowing doctors’ practices, HMOs, and insurance companies to continue to be privately owned, the federal government will nevertheless dictate to them how their contracts and associations will be run. However, given a variety of factors, this dictatorial control over the medical industry will most likely lead these still privately owned interests into bankruptcy, much like what the federal government has done to the financial and mortgage lending industries, and the federal government will most probably take upon ownership, as well as control, of much of these industries.

That is where Obama’s communism comes in. The “road to socialism”? No, already there. Fascism? Already there. But are we on the road to communism? You betchya!

Communism is, by and large, complete State ownership and control of all industry, wealth and property, and the means of production. So far, we have seen this from Obama in his leading the charge of confiscation of much of the automobile industry, as well as the federal government’s ownership of much of the mortgage and finance industries. And eventually, most likely, the entire medical industry.

Whether Obama is intentionally implementing a communist America by way of long-planned “stealth,” as some people have suggested he is doing, or whether he has a communist agenda by way of his long-time partnership with admitted terrorist bomber and “small-c communist” Bill Ayers, or whether Obama follows the teachings of “radical community organizer” (or “communizer”) Saul Alinsky, is actually not as important as Obama’s actual actions as president.

So far, we have noted that Barack Obama is:

A Socialist. He supports public ownership of the means of production, redistribution of wealth from some segments of society to others.

A Fascist. He supports State control over private industries and the means of production, and just about every aspect of citizens’ daily lives.

A Communist. He supports State ownership as well as control of industry and the means of production.

But what isn’t Obama?

A Capitalist.

Barack Obama is not a capitalist because he opposes voluntary exchange, private property rights, voluntary contracts, associations and markets free of State intrusions, and under the Rule of Law. The true capitalist, voluntary exchange-private property system that coexists with individual liberty is exactly what the American Founders believed in, for which they fought a Revolution to have and preserve for their posterity. This capitalist system is the only system that exists under the Rule of Law that protects all individuals in such a society from the theft and trespass of others including agents of the State.

In contrast, socialism, fascism and communism all institutionalize the violation of the Rule of Law as they institutionalize the violation of all individuals’ inherent rights to life, liberty and justly acquired property.

In those totalitarian systems, the individual is a sacrificial animal for the collective, and a serf for the State.

Alas, America has not actually experienced true capitalism, at least not since the U.S. Constitution was written and ratified, and especially not since the presidency of hardcore banking and monetary fascist and warmonger-business protectionist Abraham Lincoln.

The choice for America is whether to continue on the road to communism, or to turn back, dismantle all of it, and restore our freedom and prosperity.

Eichenbaum first Republican Congressional Candidate to Top $100k

Asheville, NC – The Dr Dan 4 Congress campaign announced today that it has raised more than $119,000. As such, Dr. Eichenbaum has continued to outpace his primary opponents by being the first to reach the six figure milestone and to receive contributions from donors in each of NC-11′s fifteen counties.

“The amazing citizens of Western North Carolina are investing in our campaign because they realize that Heath Shuler and his politician friends in Washington don’t listen. Last September 12th, more than 1 million patriots rallied on the streets of Washington, DC yet we the people are still ignored,” said Eichenbaum. “The people of Western North Carolina want a representative who will advocate on their behalf, actively proposing legislation that will get government out of their lives and out of the way of business, thereby letting entrepreneurs do what they do best, create jobs.”

This is a first foray into politics for Dr. Eichenbaum, a practicing ophthalmologist hailing from Murphy, NC, who’s decision to challenge Shuler was made after attending the last year’s Tax Day Tea Party rally in Atlanta and receiving encouragement from members of the WCU Young Americans for Liberty and the Buncombe County Young Republicans.

In addition to being the first Republican candidate to reach six figures, Dr. Eichenbaum has won every straw poll following a debate and has received endorsements from several grassroots organizations including the Asheville Tea PAC, the Cherokee County 9-12 Project, and the Independence Caucus, making him the clear frontrunner in the race to challenge Heath Shuler.

Physician Congressional Candidate Dan Eichenbaum, MD Urges Rep. Shuler to Repeal Health Care Legislation

As a practicing physician for 34 years, I have a comprehensive and personal understanding of our nation’s health care system, both its successes and failures.

A careful examination of the health care bill enacted this week reveals numerous government bureaucracies whose purpose is to regulate, evaluate, and rate the cost-effectiveness of interactions between physicians and their patients, interactions that should otherwise be personal and private. Like the legislative process by which it was passed, this bill is a shrewdly deceptive Trojan horse by which the federal government hopes to federalize and socialize all medical care.

The American health care system, judged by survival rates for serious illness and the innovative development of drugs and medical devices, is beyond question the finest in the world. Why else would the world’s wealthy and elite travel here for care instead of opting for treatment in their own counties. In addition, Congress, the executive branch, and other government elite have predictably excluded themselves from participation in this costly and inferior health care scheme. Such hypocrisy emphasizes the need for passage of the 28th Amendment which would require that legislation passed by Congress apply equally to legislators and citizens.

Health care access and cost issues are best solved by allowing the free market to function normally. Interference from government and corporate interests create rules and mandates that prevent doctors and patients from bargaining with each other for goods and services, purchasing individualized insurance policies from any and all competing companies, and using tax-free health care saving accounts to amass private funds for future medical use.

The purposeful exclusion of doctors and patients from the entire legislative process is an obscene reminder of the arrogance of our elected officials and how unwarranted interference into the private affairs of citizens always does more harm than good.

Given the enormity and import of this legislative initiative, how is it possible, Mr. Shuler, that you have no opinion until Nancy Pelosi tells you what to believe and how to vote? I sincerely hope that you are not so concerned about your political future and devoid of moral fiber that you can justify ignoring the wishes and welfare of your constituents until it is politically convenient.

On behalf of fellow physicians, patients, and the vast majority of the citizens of Western North Carolina, I urge you to repeal this legislation.

Dan Eichenbaum, MD
Candidate for Congress, NC District 11

Americans for Prosperity Applauds U.S. House Candidate Dr. Dan Eichenbaum -Signs No Climate Tax Pledge-

Americans for Prosperity Applauds U.S. House Candidate Dan Eichenbaum
-Signs No Climate Tax Pledge-

RALEIGH—The North Carolina chapter of the grassroots free market group Americans for Prosperity (AFP-NC) today applauded U.S. House candidate Dan Eichenbaum (11th District) for signing the group’s No Climate Tax pledge. Eichenbaum joins more than 425 lawmakers and candidates on the federal, state and local levels pledging to “oppose legislation relating to climate change that includes a net increase in government revenue.

“The one thing elected officials should be able to agree on is that global warming shouldn’t be used as an excuse to hike taxes on citizens and businesses,” said AFP-NC State Director Dallas Woodhouse. “We encourage all of North Carolina’s elected officials and candidates for elected office to sign the pledge.”

North Carolina signers include: U.S. Senator Richard Burr; U.S. Representatives Patrick McHenry and Howard Coble; U.S. Senate candidate Michael Beitler; U.S. House candidates Frank Roche, James Taylor, Jon Mangin, William Breazeale and Scott Keadle; and numerous state legislators.

Cap-and-trade took its first step toward enactment last year when the U.S. House narrowly passed the Waxman-Markey energy tax bill, which escaped the lower chamber by a scant seven votes despite significant bipartisan opposition. The Senate has struggled to pass companion legislation, with several key Democratic senators expressing opposition to passing the energy tax bill.

President Obama has made no secret of his support for the bill, which would be the largest tax increase in American history. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office has scored the House plan as an $846 billion increase in federal revenue, a burden that will be borne by taxpayers and consumers for decades to come.

“Using the guise of climate change to transfer dollars from hard-working citizens to bureaucratic big government is unacceptable,” said Woodhouse. “Regardless of their stance on global warming, this should be common ground for all of our elected officials at all levels of government.”

The pledge is available online at www.NoClimateTax.com. AFP does not endorse candidates. All elected officials and candidates are encouraged to sign the pledge and go on the record in opposition to using the climate change issue to increase taxes and grow the size of government.

NATIONAL TENTH AMENDMENT SUMMIT IS A HUGE SUCCESS

(Atlanta – 1 March 2010) Even as snowstorms were blanketing much of the northeast, a firestorm for the cause of liberty and state sovereignty was heating up in Atlanta on Thursday and Friday.

Hosted by Ray McBerry, Republican candidate for governor of Georgia, the first national Tenth Amendment Summit convened for the purpose of bringing candidates together from around the country who are running on a Tenth Amendment platform, each with the goal of restraining the power of the federal government through the assertion of peaceful, constitutional means. The event was co-sponsored by the Tenth Amendment Center in California.

Thursday night’s closed-door meeting included twenty-five candidates from across America who represented thirteen states — more than a quarter of the states that make up the union, including North Carolina’s own Dr. Dan Eichenbaum, Republican candidate for North Carolina’s 11th congressional district. Of candidates participating, there were fifteen running for Congress, one for U.S. Senate, one for state senate, five for state house, and three candidates for governor of their respective states. There were also both men and women present, running for office.

Perhaps more telling, though, was the fact that the candidates included Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, and Independents. While it was obvious that all of the candidates did not share the same views on many issues, it was very apparent that each shared the common belief that his or her state should be allowed to govern itself without federal encroachment in any area other than those powers expressly granted to it in the Constitution.

The closed-door meeting Thursday night was a strategy session for the candidates to discuss what is working currently to promote the cause of state sovereignty and how the group can work together to advance the cause more.

Friday’s all-day meeting was open to the public and included speeches from nearly all of the participating candidates, including the keynote speaker — former Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore, who is currently a Republican candidate for governor of Alabama. Dr. Eichenbaum, candidate for congress in North Carolina, spoke of several ways in which the federal government has exceeded the limits set forth in the constitution and the need for citizens to trust in freedom.

One of the important things to emerge from the Summit was a statement presented by the candidates Friday morning as a mutual statement of purpose. It reads as follows:

We The People of the several States created a federal government to serve as our limited agent, delegating to the federal government only those limited and few powers listed in the Constitution, and no others.

We recognize the federal government has seized unlimited power over virtually every aspect of Americans lives in violation of the Constitution of the United States, specifically with respect to the Tenth Amendment.

We call upon freedom-loving citizens everywhere to stand with us, as candidates for state and federal office, to pass meaningful and sensible legislation to restore the most critical check and balance deliberately designed into our constitutional republic: that of strong, sovereign states.

We pledge to limit and restrain all federal government exercise of power that exceeds in any way the plain language of those few powers listed in the Constitution and to nullify all others that exceed such limit.

When we restore the balance of power between the states and the federal government according to the Constitution, our country will enjoy the dynamic blessings of liberty and prosperity.

The Tenth Amendment Summit (Atlanta, GA) – Dr. Dan Eichenbaum (NC 11) to Attend

I’m very excited to be attending The Tenth Amendment Summit on Friday in Atlanta, Georgia, The Summit is a gathering of 2010 candidates from across the country who will champion state sovereignty. In addition, I have received an invitation to attend the closed-door meeting of select candidates on Thursday evening to discuss strategies for implementing state-level responses to federal overreach, possible legislation, and advancing the message of state sovereignty. I have also been included in the list of candidates who will have the opportunity to address the Summit.

Speakers include former superior court judge and Fox News analyst, Judge Andrew Napolitano, and Chief Justice Roy Moore of Alabama, who is widely known for his refusal as Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court to remove the Ten Commandments from the courthouse wall.

As a staunch defender of states’ rights, I anticipate the Summit experience will provide me with additional knowledge and ammunition to fight federal overreach as a congressman in Washington.

As a nation, I believe the US must protect and defend its borders, national identity, and sovereignty against all threats external or internal. The push toward globalism sponsored by the current administration and the United Nations is a direct threat to our personal liberties and the rule of law as defined by our Constitution, and, as such, must be fought with all vigor and persistence. When our Constitution was written, treaties consisted of agreements one nation to another nation. For this reason, provisions were made so that no state could opt out of an international treaty agreed to by senate ratification. These provisions are extremely dangerous now that UN “human rights” treaties deal with citizens’ rights inside a nation. Senate ratification of UN treaties such as those concerning Rights of Children, Climate Change, Weapons, Judicial/Legal rights, etc., would allow international law to supersede state law to the detriment of our citizens. This possibility is unacceptable to me. Until this constitutional loophole is removed, we must actively prevent ratification of any international treaty that would contradict or restrict any rights and provision guaranteed by our constitution.

The States created the federal government, not the other way around. The Tenth Amendment is referred to as the “forgotten amendment.” Our founders added the Tenth Amendment because they wanted to make it absolutely clear that anything that was not delegated or prohibited by the Constitution would be reserved to the states or to the people. Individual states must actively and aggressively take the necessary legal steps to reaffirm and regain the rights that have been usurped by the federal government.

Trust in Freedom
